Die Verbesserungen, als ganze Fassung gelesen:
In her article, Hannah Rowe argues that unpaid internships are unfair. She points out that six weeks in London without pay cost more than many families earn in a month. The companies claim that they cannot afford to pay interns, but Rowe argues that the costs are only passed on to others. In the end, she asks her readers to stop calling the system fair.
Der gestrichene Deutungssatz wird nicht umformuliert, sondern ersetzt: an seine Stelle tritt, was der Text an dieser Stelle tatsächlich sagt.
Übung 2

Übung 3: mögliche Sätze
(a) Lucía does not manage to tell her father that she has been accepted by a university.
(b) Maya Collins argues that without a local newspaper, rumours spread on social media without being checked.
(c) The teacher claims that the system knows the students better than they know themselves.
Das muss drin sein
- (a) ohne Unfortunately, im present tense, und das Wissen, dass es um die Studienzusage geht.
- (b) ein neutrales Verb statt proves, und genauer, was sie über soziale Medien sagt.
- (c) present tense und ohne das Urteil which is absurd.
Typische Fehlgriffe
- Beim Korrigieren nur unterstreichen und kein Kürzel setzen. Erst das Kürzel sagt, welche Falle es ist und wie sie verschwindet.
- Nur das Wertungswort streichen und die Vergangenheit stehen lassen.
- Die Wertung durch eine mildere ersetzen: „Sadly“ statt „Unfortunately“.
- Bei (b) die Rednerin in die eigene Stimme übernehmen: „Social media are dangerous without newspapers.“
